Festivals of West Kameng District generally mean numerous colourful and joyous celebrations by the people residing here. One of the leader tribes of the District is Aka Tribe and their community festival is known as Nechidow, or more appropriately Nyetriidow which is generally celebrated in the 2nd week of January every year. The Nechidow festival is celebrated to clean the village from the influence of evil spirits, prosperity, bumper crop production and general betterment of the village community. |
