Naharlagun, Febuary Ist, 2005 – The 10 day free eye camp at Bordumsa , Primary Health Centre and Diyun Sub-Centre ended on January 1, last at Changlang with the valedictory function attended by the changlang D.C. Shri T. Tapok Minister for Health and Family Welfare Shri C.C. Singpho and other district Medical Officers as invitees. On the occasion Dr. K.K. Deb, State Programme Officer, National Blindness Control Programme and Dr. Pait, Surgeon who came all the way from Itanagar for the eye camp were felicitated for their services by the Gaon Buras and the Medical Staffs of Bordumsa. Shri Singpho while addressing the function lauded the medical department for rendering of humanitarian Services for the poor who cannot bear the expenses for the operations in the Referral Hospitals. He also assured to initiate some more beneficial programmes in the near future. While discussing various issues, the Minister stressed on creating awareness about HIV/AIDS and Drug Addiction in Changlang District. He sought co-operation from all corners of the society in order to tackle the Drug-Addition problem afflicting the district and moulding the younger generation in the right and constructive path. While, Chief Guest Shri T. Tapok wished all the patients for quick recovery, he informed the gathering about the conduct of District Blindness Control Society. According to him, the society had been conducting such beneficial camps in the regular intervals. He also advised the patients to fallow the doctors prescription strictly. In the function, the D.C. urged the Health Minister to post doctors at Changlang District Medical which is facing acute shortage of Doctors. Later he donated Rs. 5000/- (Rupees Five Thousand) to the Bordumsa P.H.C. Earlier DMO Changlang Dr. De , placed the detail report of the eye camp in which as many as 824 out patients were treated.
