Naharlagun feb,5 : An Enterpreneurship Development Prgm was organised recently by
the department of Industry, Anini at Mipi, circle HQ 38 Km away from Anini. The prgm. was sponsored by the KVIC
Ita. Speaking as the Chief guest in the inaugural function of the progm, Sudhir Kumar, Deputy Commissioner of the district, said
that the people are the greatest resource for development of any area. He emphasised on preserving the forest which is referred to as
Green Gold saying the forest has got multipurpose use in human life and poeple were destroying it due to unawareness or negligence. He
exhorted the people of the district to work extra hard to catch up with the other part of the state and the country.One has to work hard
as the saying goes "As you sow, so you reap", he added. He assured to implement weekly market in the district HQ.
District Horticultural Officer O.P.Pandey and district Agriculture Officer, B.K. Srivastava also spoke on the occassion. they dwelt on
length an the scope of horticulture and agriculture in the district and exhorted the people to come forward and work hard to
grow sufficient food crop for themselves. Earlier, K.Riram ADI, Anini in his welcome speech
highlighted the aim & objectives of the progm. He said that the main aim of the programme is to enable the villagers to generate income
from the available local sources adding that the typical dwarf bamboo found in the district having multipurpose uses has commercial
potential. He added that a superior quality scent sticks and tooth pick can be made from this bamboo. The inaugural function was
followed by a lunch and training to the rural people.
