Naharlagun- The Secretary, District Administration, Fishery & IPR Shri D.C. Sahoo visited the encroached site of the nursery pond of Fishery Department located in the heart of the Along town on Jan 11 last to assess the area which have been encroached by some persons recently. The Deputy Commissioner, Shri S.D. Vaidya accompanied Shri Sahoo during the visit, reports DIPRO Along. During his visit the public apprised Shri Sahoo and Shri Vaidya about the encroachments and attempt for such encroachments in government land. Many people including some prominent citizens have occupied the pond and put their name plates. Meanwhile the district administration has arrested one person in this regard and dismantled the construction in the encroached area. The dismantlement was carried out under the supervision of Revenue and Fishery officials in presence of two magistrates and police, the report added.
