Itanagar:- The State Chief Secretary
Ashok Kumar took a high level meeting of Commissioners and Secretaries to access
the flood situation in the State in his office chamber today.
Presiding over the meeting the Chief Secretary expressed concerned over the grim
flood situation and directed to provide immediate relief to the victims. The
Chief Secretary asked to take adequate care to minimize the suffering of the
people and directed to set up health camp, arrange drinking water supply, and
identify alternative site for helipad to facilitated flow of essential
commodities He also asked to utilize the service of All India Radio and other
media to make people aware on dos and don't during the flood and facilities made
available by the government.
Mean while the Chief Secretary has requested the centre for allocation of
interim fund of Rs. 100/- crore to tide over the situation. The Chief Minister
Gegong Apang who is in Delhi is likely to hold a press conference at New Delhi
on flood situation in the state.
In order to keep the media and people
abreast of the flood situation, Commissioner Relief and Disaster Management,
Manoj Kumar Parida will brief the press at 5 p.m. every day at his office
chamber at civil secretariat.Among others the meeting was attended by D.C.
Shahoo, Secretary District Administration & IPR & Printing, Manish
Gupta, Secretary Civil Aviation and AS Khulla, Secretary, Health
General Administration.
