Naharlagun February 25 - S.K. Singh,the Governor of Arunachal Pradesh
along with his wife,Monju Singh, Count Gecy DE valence, Countess
Franciese Dc valence, Smti Omem Moyong Deori (CWC member) visited
Pasighat area on February 23-24 last. They were welcomed by Shri B. Siram, MLA, Shri M. Ete, Deputy Commissioner East Siang & others.
The Governor with the team visited the Siang Bridge site and
was
briefed by the GREF about the hurdles & progress of the bridge. The B.R.O. also briefed the B.R.O. projects . Later the visited the Museum &
craft emporium. They also visited D. Ering Memorial Secondary School and
General
Hospital, Pasighat,where inspected theBio-Waste management system and
School of Nursing on feb.24 last. They also visited J.N. College, Pasighat, and interacted with the students and teachers.
Further, at
Balek village they interacted with the villagers. During interactions
with the public and students, Shri S.K. Singh stressed on the
development of the area, Education should be improved further, adding
Horticulture/Agriculture/Industries etc. has to be developed more for
economic growth. Culture & tradition should be preserved for maintenance
of identity. Ultras and divisive forces should be discouraged. All
should maintain peace & tranquility. He further said that People like count Guy Dc valence can
highlight
the beauty of Arunachal Pradesh to the outside would which will had
develop tourism in the area and which in turn will boost up the economy
of the region. At J.N. College Pasighat the Governor informed that the
Arunachal University will soon be recognized as a Central University
with the nomenclature Rajeev Gandhi University of Arunachal Pradesh. The
Governor traced the contribution of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru & Shri Rajiv
Gandhi to bring Arunachal to the present status. He appealed to the
students to study & learn to that they are well equipped to face the
challenges of life adding that they should avoid unlawful activities. He
further urged them to be good citizens & work for the betterment of the
society. Replying to the memorandum submitted, the Governor said that
the communication, Power supply etc. will be provided adding that the
problem of water supply and laboratory will be looked into. Count Guy Dc valence said
that India is developing fast and
in the
right direction adding that the world is now taking notice of Indian as
India is growing fast economically. Young people from outside are now
coming to create new links he further said. At Balek, the Governor S.K.
Singh said that new ideas for better development should be encouraged.
