BOMDILA March, 30 - Dealer consultation workshop on value added tax (VAT) was organized today at Bomdila by the Department of tax and excise wherein a large number of traders participated. Speaking on the occasion, Mrs. Y.W. Ringu, ADC said that one has to learn to cope up with new ideas which is beneficial for the people at large. Though there are some apprehensions among the people regarding vat It would be beneficial at the longer run because the revenue so generated would be used solely for the developmental activities of the people of the state.As it is a govt. decision, vat would be enforced w.e.f. 1st April'2005 said Mrs. Ringu. The deputy commissioner Tax and Excise Mr. A. Pangkam dealt at length the contents of the day viz - end of Sales Tax , Introduction of Vat. Why vat, benefits for you benefits for the govt. summing up of vat and your role to the little apprehensive but inquisitive house . An open discussion was held later to seal the proceedings of the day.
