Tawang April 5:- Tawang district Zilla Parishad meeting was held on April,05last to review and discuss the Below Poverty Level (BPL) census figures and fixation of the cut off score to ensure that cut off score r remains in between 20 to 30 RPT as per the Govt. order. The meeting was presided over by the Shri Jambey Tsering as chairman, Ex-officio member and Anchal Samity Panchayat chairperson of Jang, Mukto Thingbu block. In his address , minister for Power,RR Dorjee Khandu advocated fixation of the cut off score at the 30 RPT as it will benefit most of the beneficiaries at the grass root level .He further urged to select the most deserving beneficiaries and stressed on judicious implementation of the government policies without discriminations. Khandu also highlighted various problems regarding the supply and transportation of food grains items in the district under SGRY and suggested that a resolution may be adopted for restoration of it so that maximum benefit could be provided to the poor and needy people He also assured to take up the matter in the cabinet. Meanwhile Khandu expressed concern over illegal hunting of wild animals of endangered species which need to be preserved and protected. He said that such acts will disturb the eco system causing ecological imbalance which may pose problem in the future. He urged upon the Deputy Commissioner to initiate action against the offenders and also advised the ZPMs to take stringent action against such offenders without hesitation. The minister also highlighted the problems in the existing system of PDS in Tawang and expressed that the Food Corporation of India must be directed as per the norms of the Government to deliver the PDS items in the PD Centre where the distribution of the food grains will be done by the district administration. A resolution was also passed in this regard. MLA, Tsewang Dhondup who also spoke on the occasion stressed on the need for proper implementation of all BPL schemes.. He also suggested that cut off score at 30 RPT so that larger number of beneficiaries could be benefited from it. Tawang the Deputy Commissioner cum-CEO,DRDA, K.Kholie said that the presence of the minister in the house provided a good platform to express its needs and problems and assured strict action to stop illegal poaching and sought corporation of the public leaders and public as well. Meanwhile the meeting adopted number of resolutions like fixation of the cut off score between 20 -30 RPT on the basis of BPL Census-2002,utilization and restoration of food grains component of SGRY, prohibition of illegal hunting of wild animals in the district, refilling of vacant post of all Gram Panchayat, discontinuation of existing system of PDS in Tawang and floating of tenders by FCI as per the norms of the government . Earlier ,Karma Leki PD explained the aim and objectives of the meeting. The meeting was attended by concerned heads of departments , ex-officio members and all Zilla Parished members of the district.
