 PASIGHAT April 6: Central Mopin festival '2006 was celebrated with traditional gaiety at Pasighat Solung ground on April 5last . Greeting one and all on the occasion MLA, B.Siram, appealed all to preserve the age old culture to maintain distinct identity and dwelt in detail of Mopin , its s resemble and relevance of Ramayana saga. Siram advocated to expose the varied festival and spread the message of peace and harmony to outside world .He expressed the hoped that the festival would bring prosperity to the people . The occasion was also addressed by N.Nyonggam . Citation of Mopin mythology, traditional mithun sacrifice, traditional Popir dance and cultural competition were the other highlights of the day. Mopin was also celebrated with all traditional fervour and rituals at Nari wherein minister for IFCD, Tako Dabi urged the people to preserve and observe one's own culture and festival. At Nari the festival was among others attended by T.S.Jamoh DCC (I) President, T.Welly CE(RWD) and SDO Nari. Earlier,.Welly inaugurated an RCC bridge over Nate River constructed under MLA LAD fund.
