NAHARLAGUN, June 08 - The Deputy Commissioner, Upper Siang district Shri Gamli Padu had convened a meeting on May 27 last in connection with issue of unauthorized encroachment of the government land at Yingkiong and other upcoming towns in Upper Siang district and to solicit public support to arrest the anomaly which was attended by the out post Administrative Officers, Panchayat members and prominent public leaders of the district, reports DIPRO Yingkiong.
Addressing the house, the DC informed
that because of the rampant illegal encroachment of the government land at
Yingkiong, Tuting,
Mariyang, Jengging, Geku and Ratan, proper planning and development of these
towns is not possible and if the ongoing trend of such
encroachment is left unchecked at this stage, then there will be a chaotic
situation where the charm and beauty of the towns will be lost.
While informing that there are three main types of illegal encroachments on the
government land in these towns, like a) Central Encroachment by Private
Individuals b) Encroachment of already allotted land to Govt. Departments by
private individuals and c) Encroachment of already
allotted land to private individuals by third parties. Shri Padu solicited
support of public for carrying out eviction of such unauthorized encroachment of
the Govt. Land wherever necessary within the district.
By and large, majority of the public
leaders and Panchayat bodies present in the meeting supported eviction of
authorized encroachment
from the Govt. lands in the district in the larger interest of the public.
