                                                                               SIANG RIVER FESTIVAL AT TUTING

YINGKIONG NOV 5 : The Project Director DRDA Sri Kangki Darang who is the over all in-charge of the ensuing Siang River festival had convened a meeting with Officers and Public leaders on 5th Nov’05 in order to discuss on the tentative programme of the festivals and preparatory works. 

The Upper Siang Deputy Commissioner Sri Gamli Padu sought co-operation from the Public leaders for the successful conduct of the festival and described the ensuing festival as a privilege for the people of the district which will be a good platform to expose this beautiful hilly and mountaineous border district. He asked the District Tourism Officer to prepare tourist Guide map and initiate Singa, Gelling & Tuting to be brought under Tourist circuit.
The Siang River Festival will be conducted in three places viz. Tuting on 10th to 12th, Yingkiong on 13th & 14th Dec’05 and Pasighat. There will be traditional games and sports activities like arrow shooting, folk dance like Tapu, Dihang and Ettor Delong, Ponung in traditional attire, Food stalls in local dish and departmental exhibition stalls, Indigenous craft bazaar etc.

There will also be lot more cultural activities from celebraties Singer Sri Gemo Diyum and Sri Moge Doji and Traditional fashion show.

The much more interesting activities to tell is Eco-Challenge Programme to be arranged by Girish Kulkarni, Traditional house-type and Gonpa for sight-seeing, Video cassettes of Ako-Dumbing and Mouling National Park showing animals and birds of rarest species like Sikung, Siar, Tane, Perik etc.

The Other interesting story to tell is the scenic beauty of Tuting, a landlocked valley of Siang River surrounded by snow-clad mountains, whispering voice of birds, murmuring Sound of Siang River, water falls and everything of well-designed creation of nature and is sometime described as hidden paradise on earth that enchanted most of the visitors.
