Naharlagun:- Shri M. Ete, Deputy Commissioner, East Siang along with Shri A. Siram AGM (BSNL) Itanagar has inaugurated the Bilat Telecom Exchange with STD facility on May 9 last in presence of officers/ public leaders and general public, reports DIPRO Pasighat. Speaking on the occasion Shri Ete congratulated the BSNL and the local
people and said that as it is a sign of development, all the people should co- operate & protect the men and materials. He further called upon them to utilize the facility purposefully & pay the rent in time. Replying to a memorandum Shri M. Ete said that he would look into the matter regarding delegation of power to C.O. Bilat for renewal of ILP.  He assured to discuss with S.P. E.Siang for opening of police-outpost and if all requirements are fulfilled then he will recommend to the Govt. for consideration. He also informed that a 2-room primary school
building has been sanctioned. Another Rs. 2.5 lacs for fencing of the Meeting- Hall has been sanctioned. Also Rs. 1.4 lacs for renovation of Dere (Community hall) will be provided. He provided Rs. 10 (Ten) thousand to C.O. Bilat for development purposes. He also instructed the C.O. Bilat to carry out survey for allotting land to the BSNL for
infrastructure development. 

Shri A. Siram sought co-operation from all for protection and maintenance of the exchange. He requested the D.C. for early allotment of land for further infrastructural development. The BSNL will definitely provide connections to the villages. The authorities are planning for more Mobiles, WLL etc. Shri L. Borang S.D.O. Ruksin & Shri R. Takuk PD (DRDA) while speaking on the occasion said that this is a memorable day. In the present society
the telephone has become a necessity and because of this the world has become smaller. It was also felt that Public-Booths should be installed in some places. They appealed to all to be united and co-operate with the dist. Adm. For maintenance of law and order and sustenance of development.

Earlier Shri T. Moyong ZPM submitted a memorandum seeking early telephone connections to the villages of the circle/setting up of police out post with W/T facility/ delegation of power to the C.O. Bilat to renew ILPs, the report added.
