Mossang society, a charitable organisation has started integrated handloom
training programme sponsored by the development commissioner handloom, ministry
of textile, Govt. of India at weaving unit complex of R.K Mossang memorial
society here on 13 June last. One master craftsman namely Sri Pawan Hazarika has
been deputed by weaver service center Guwahaty for two months for the training
of Perspective candidates. Ten shuttles PLY Loom have also been procured for the
purpose. At least twenty trainees will be trained for which required raw
materials will be provided by the society. This programme will help the local
weaver to improve the weaving technique and facilitate them to go for economic
generation. The EAC Jairampur M Roy, who inaugurated the programme earlier
lauded the society’s endeavour and hoped for such more in the near future.
The R.K. Mossang memorial society had also organized one-day training programme on "Mushroom cultivation" (Summer variety) and Vermi compost on June last in the society’s school compound, which was attended by 50 women participants from the nearby villages, Jairampur town and 29th Assam Rifle. The training camp was organized with the help of the RRL Naharlagun Branch. The programme was sponsored to RRL by the Deptt of BIO TECHNOLOGY Govt of India Sri B.C. Barua senior Technical Officer Naharlagun RRL, Explained and Demonstrated on the Technique of the Cultivation of Mushroom cultivation.
