PASIGHAT, December, 16 - The officers and staff of the District Administration, East Siang has expressed deep shock and condoled the demise of Lt. Bote Moyong, who expired on December15 last at his residence at Mirku Village here after a long spell of illness. He left behind six sons and a daughter. Born to Lt Bamit Moyong on 1.1.1924, Lt Bote Moyong was a renowned visionary and social worker who struggled tirelessly throughout his entire life for the betterment and welfare of the people of the state. He was awarded commendation certificate in recognition of his selfless and meritorious services to the people of Arunachal Pradesh by the state Governor on 15th August 1982. He had graced the Donyi-Polo Yelam Kebang, Pasighat as its first President and was the sitting president of Bogong Banggo peoples Forum.

A revolutionary leader, late Moyong had his education at Pasighat and Sadiya and was conferred recognition as a Freedom Fighter in the year 1988. He had also attended the Freedom Fighters Conference at Allahabad on 19.11.1985 and was invited at the ceremonial Honour of Freedom Fighters by the President of India at the Rastrapati Bhawan on 9.8.2003, which he could not attend due to his ill health.

His demise is an irreparable loss to the state and will be remembered ever for his contribution to the society, a release from DC, Pasighat informed.
