TEZU, Oct 19 - A workshop on
"Right to Information Bill" was organized for all District officers of
Lohit and Anjaw district on October 18
last, reports DIPRO. The Deputy Commissioner, P.S Lokhande while presiding over
the workshop, highlighted the main provisions of the law and advised all Heads
of offices to appoint one Public Information Officer in their respective offices
to deal with the matter. Under the law known as "The Arunachal Pradesh
Right to Information Rules, 2005" any citizen can seek information about
government matters
by making an application in Form- 'A' to the competent authorities by depositing
application fees ranging from Rupees fifty to Five hundred
depending on nature of information. In order to co-ordinate and deal with
appeals etc. government will also appoint one State Information Officer who will
dispose all cases within thirty days from the date of appeal, the report added.
