Naharlagun May 28- A training on 5th
Economic Census was held at Khonsa on May 24 last, reports DIPRO Khonsa.
Speaking as the chief guest at the inaugural function, the Deputy Commissioner
Tirap, Shri Sudhir Kumar underscored the importance of economic census and asked
the trainees to take the training seriously.
He further said that collection of correct datas is of paramount importance as
on the basis of those datas, the growth of economic activities can be assessed
and can plan for faster development.
In his keynote address Shri D.K. Bhattercharjee, Statistical Officer (HQ) attending as the resource person expressed his gratitude to the district administration and informed that the economic census is different from population census. While narrating the history of economic census in the states, he said that the economic census covers all the economic activities both under organized and unorganized sectors.
Earlier W. Lowang, ADC while welcoming
the participants appealed them to take full advantage of the training to be
thorough and well- versed during their field work, the report added.
