Naharlagun May 28- The Minister Agriculture, Horticulture & veterinary Shri Tsering Gyurme has inaugurated a two day comprehensive multipurpose rehabilitation camp for persons with disabilities at Bomdila recently. The camp was organized by the Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India, Kanpur, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment under ADIP scheme, Govt. of India in collaboration with CRC, VCR Guwahati, District Social Welfare Department, Medical and District Administration, reports DIPRO i/c, Bomdila.
The team comprises of Physical medicine specialist, Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist, Audiologist, Speech therapist, Special educator visually impaired, Vocational Rehabilitation expert and councilor and medical specialists from ALIMCO, Kanpur, CRC &VCR Guwahati besides the district medical officers attended the camp.
More than 430 people were registered
and have been offered free treatment in the two day camp and around 210 people
with disabilities were provided assistance devices and appliances free of cost
and on subsidized basis. On the occasion more than 50 disabled persons were
identified for training in the vocational aspects and providing loan from
district lead bank. Shri Gyurme had also distributed aids and appliances of
around of Rs 1.5 lakhs (approx) at the camp to the needy people of the district
and adjoining areas, the report added.
