Miao December 28, 2005: Miao is readying for celebrating the third consecutive year NAMDAPHA ECO CULTURAL FESTIVAL -2006 on February 27 and 28 next.In a meeting convened here today for the preparatory arrangements for the ensuing festival, local MLA Kamlung Mossang has exhorted the house to put collective efforts in order to make the festival a grand success.  He deliberated the objective of the festival as a platform for bringing cultural integration for peaceful coexistence of different communities.Reorts DIPRO.

Miao Sub-Division has been blessed with huge natural resources and has  various ethnic groups, Shri Mossang said , adding that we should
showcase the age-old culture and tradition of the area to the world. He also felt that encouragement should be extended to eco tourism and other fields. Terming the festival as a multi faceted, he urged the house to their full extend cooperation to make the occasion a grand success. He urged the OIL and GEOENPRO representatives, business community and local public leaders for generous financial contribution for the celebration. 

In his speech Miao ADC K Riram, called for a collective responsibility from the house for successful celebration of the festival. He was of the
view that such festival stand to promote the vast and rich cultural heritage of the district. He expected much inflow of foreign as well as local tourist in the festival, if proper planning and publicity is provided. He also assured to make necessary arrangements for providing ILP for the tourist at check gates for the convenience of the tourists.

After a threadbare discussion, various responsibilities were distributed among the officers and public leaders of the head quarter. It was
unanimously decided to give wide publicity of the festival and proper transportation facilities were to be expedited. Various officers and public leaders placed their suggestions and accordingly action plans were chalked out on the day. Beside Local MLA K Mossang and ADC K Riram, various other public leaders and officers took part in the meeting.
