Tezu, Dec 29 - From Jatrapha cultivation ( Biodiesel plant) , Piggery, interacting with farmers from Bangladesh on marketing of orange
products, organic farming , fish farming , commercialization of milk products to post harvest technology on Sugarcane, mustard and citronella,
under a unique programme to expose farmers of Dibang Valley to various modern Agriculture methods and to raise their skills particularly in commercialization of local products, the Agriculture Technology Management Agency, Roing, has been conducting a month long awareness programme for farmers starting from 25th December, last a led by Agriculture Development Officer, Roing, Nasiya Mena, the fifteen- member group comprising of some women farmers, visited Tezu govt. Agriculture Seed Production Farm, where they were sensitized on organic farming and jatrapha cultivation( Bio-diesel plant). At another important centre, LIFCO, the group members were also exhibited the
preparation methods of various milk products like paneer and ghee, and taught ways of commercialization of milk. Besides, Veterinary and Animal Husbandry officials at Loiliang Piggery Farm showed them how Piggery can be adopted by farmers on a commercial level.

At Wakro the members visited some orange gardens where they interacted with orange growers and orange traders from Bangladesh on marketing of orange products. In the course of this awareness programme, the group will also visit Kherem Farmers Training centre, Namsai Fish Breeding Farm besides Bordumsa in Changlang district where they will be exposed on post harvest technology on Sugarcane, mustard, and Citronella.

Shri J. Bhattacharjee , Agronomist, Tezu, who is also the Project Director of ATMA, expressed satisfaction over the positive impact of the programme on the farmers and hoped this will significantly raise their ideas on management of various products.
