Tawang 28 Dec:- Yuva, a local NGO of
Tawang, and the 190 Mountain Brigade of the Army joined hands to help the victims of the recent December 14
fire victims of Grengkhar village of Tawang district.Reports DIPRO. A Relief Material Distribution Camp was organized at Kitpi Middle School
compound recently where Col Lalit Rai, Officiating Commander of the 190 Mountain Brigade alongwith Col. Brijendra Singh, CO of Raj Rifles and
other officers of the 190 Mountain Brigade distributed essential items like rice, dal, sugar, milk power, tea leaf, vegetable oil, salt and
Kerosene to the victims.
The NGO members of Yuva, headed by Shri Jambey Tashi of Tawang met the Officiating Commander of the 190 Mountain Brigade Col. Lalit Rai on
Dec15 last and apprised about the fire accident that occured at Grengkhar village and the difficulties faced by the fire victims.
Delegate members of the Yuva requested Army authority to render all possible assistance to the victims of the fire accident from their side
and 190 Mountain brigade graciously accepted the proposal and asked the Yuva Society to organize the Distribution of Relief materials immediately.
On the occasion, Col Lalit Rai, Officiating Commander of the 190 Mountain Brigade assured to provide all possible support to the
civilians as and when required. Shri K.N.Damo, Circle Officer and BDO Tawang was also present as representative of the District Administration.
Shri Goleng, a senior public leader of the District who is also holding the post of Advisor of the Yuva expresssed his deep sense of gratitude
to the Army authority for showing sympathy to the victims of fire accident and hoped that the same spirit would continue in the future also.
Yuva, the NGO, has taken the responsibility of collecting donations from the well wishers in collaboration with the District Administration,
Tawang. Yuva has appealed all walks of people to contribute to help restart the life of the victims of Grenghar village, the report added.
