PASIGHAT. May 8: Education minister
Chowna Mein appreciated the sense of responsibility and the involvement of
the local people in development process and said government is giving main
thrust to education and health sectors, reports Marbang Ezing.
The minister was on a day visit to Pasighat on April 07. Addressing the public
Mein said govt. is committed to bridge the gender gap in education
and assured to help in completion of the Taki Ralung ME.school building. While
reminding the role and responsibilities given to the Village Education
Committees (VEC) he urged all to protect and maintain the assets.
Replying to the memorandum submitted by the public, Mein assured to take
up with the Govt. for upgrading the Yagrung ME.School to Secondary school and
the Tekang E.G.S. to Primary school under SSA. He also assured to upgrade D.E.
Memorial Sec. School to Hr.Secondary school.
MLA Bosiram Siram apprised the
problems of the area and appealed for the up-gradation of schools where it
is most necessary. DDSE(SSA) state unit apprised about the importance and the
activities taken under SSA.
Earlier the minister accompanied by local MLA Bosiram Siram , ADC Ms.S.
Deori,.Pasighat, Ex.MLA N.Ering, visited Rune LP.School, Taki Ralung
ME.School, Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya ,Yarung, D.Ering memorial ME. and
secondary school and the B.R.C. building at Pasighat.
