1. DOLO ATTENDS COLLEGE DAY CELEBRATION 

 BOMDILA NOVEMBER’9 :-The State Deputy Chief Minister Kameng Dolo, graced attended the 4th Annual College Day celebration of Government College, Bomdila November ‘9 last as the chief guest and took the salute of the march past. Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Chief minister said that the college day celebration helps in unearth the hidden talents among the youths and nurture it to become a better citizen of the nation. He appealed the student community to stay away from communal hatred and maintain peace and tranquility. Emphasizing on the duty of the student, he advised the students to go for true and quality education that would help them in future. He also advised them to stay away from politics and give priority to education. In reply to a memorandum submitted to him, Mr. Dolo assured the college fraternity that the government would look into the matter and do it best to provide the basics in the earliest. In his welcome address, Dr. Hage Lasa, the Principal, briefed the Deputy Chief Minister of the college and its recent achievement in the field of education. Mr. Dorjee Tsarmu, General Secretary, Student Union of the College, submitted a memorandum and apprised him of lack of infrastructure and permanent site of the college, including, hostels, bus services, lecturer quarters etc. Later as a gesture for promotion on sports, Mr. Dolo donated a sum of Rs. 20,000.00 for procurement of games & sports items. 

2. FORTY TWO SCHEMES IMPLEMENTED UNDER DISTRICT PLAN 2002-2003

:- A total of forty-two schemes were successfully implemented under the District Plan in West Kameng district in the year 2002-2003. Eleven schemes amounting to Rs. 20.6 lakhs were implemented by DRDA, Bomdila, nine schemes of Rs. 18.7 lakhs by RWD, eight schemes of Rs.34 lakhs by DUDA, Bomdila and five schemes of Rs. 1.0 lakh each by PHED. Four schemes of Rs. 4.9 lakhs by PWD, Kalaktang whereas three schemes amounting to Rs. 15 lakhs were implemented by PWD, Bomdila. One each by department of power and health. The amount sanctioned for a particular work varied from Rs. 0.25 lakhs to Rs. 10 lakhs.Highlighting on the schemes, Mr. Pallab Dey, District Planning Officer, Bomdila informed that the schemes implemented among others were drinking water supply at Lalten Basti, Rupa and at Yoloripam, maintenance of Health centers at Rupa, Kalaktang, Thrizino and Shergaon, repairing of boys hostel at Rupa and constru ction of quarters for medical officer at Singchung, APO (Edu) at Singchung, ADEO at Jameri, teachers’ quarters at Kararamu, Thessa, Karangania and Kazalang plus community toilets at Yewang, Dirang village and EAC office, Kalaktang. He added that construction of suspension bridge over Gyaddi and Dibbrik rivers and extension, repair and maintenance of cultural halls at Nafra, Bhalukpong, Kalaktang, Shergaon and Thikhaw in addition to RCC wall with drain around DC office complex, Bomdila and chain link fencing of EAC office, Kalaktang were implemented under District Plan.District Planning Officer, Bomdila also informed that an amount of Rs.1.8 lakhs was sanctioned for electrification of Bolung village, which was properly implemented. He added that amount of Rs. 3.0 lakhs were sanctioned under District Plan 2002-2003 for purchase of ENT equipments for district hospital Bomdila, an amount of Rs. 18.6 lakhs for different works at Outdoor stadium, Bomdila and an amount of Rs. 5 Lakhs for construction of green rooms at Dirang stadium.Mr. Dey while giving the details of the schemes implemented said that emphasis were given to meet the immediate needs of the people with the help of amount given under District Plan. He stressed that guidelines were strictly followed while sanctioning and implementation of the works. The DPO, added that the meeting of the District Planning Committee to finalize the schemes to be implemented under District Plan 2003-2004 is being held in the second week of November for which all the departments and out post administrative officers have been asked to submit proposals to the Deputy Commissioner.
