Reviews Poll Arrangements, beefs up security.
The Deputy Commissioner and Returning
Officer, 1 - Arunachal West Parliamentary Constituency, Sri S. D. Vaidya has
tightened up the security in West Siang and reviewed all poll arrangements,
movement plans, training on EVM and training to presiding and polling officers
in an elaborate manner. All prohibitory orders banning carrying of lethal
weapons, movement of 5 or more persons within the township and movement of any
person after 10.00 PM to 5.00 AM to ensure smooth conduct of poll. Security has
been beefed up from road end to office of the Returning Officer to ensure
movement of candidate for filing nomination in view of protest made by the AAPSU.
Instructions have been given to all EROs / AEROs to impart 3 phases of training
to all Presiding and Polling officers latest by 20th of April. The RO has also
insisted on intensive training especially on EVM sealing and directed all
Presiding Officers to submit certificate of learning before poll date. Orders
have been given to vacate schools by 25th April so that CRPF personnel could be
accommodated for law and order purposes. The RO has also cautioned arm license
holders to deposit their arms to police stations and also hinted cancellation
and seizure of few licenses for non-compliance. The RO has also promulgated
order that bans pasting of election photos and wall writings on private and
official buildings
