NAHARLAGUN:- The Govt. has issued strictures on the use
of Govt. Vehicles by the ministers for electioneering. The Election Observers
deputed by the Election commission haven taken serious cognizance of
unauthorized use of official vehicles by Ministers in their constituencies
during the applicability of Model code of conduct. They have directed to seize
the vehicles being used unauthorizedly by the Ministers in the constituencies.
During the Model code of conduct, only Chief Minister, Deputy Chief
Minister and the Home Minister are allowed to use their official vehicle out
side of the HQ i.e. Itanagar for security reasons. For the remaining ministers,
they are permitted to use their vehicle only at HQ i.e. Itanagar, for commuting
between office and residence. This is as per a press note issued from the
Secretary, Transport, Itanagar.
